Game developer Moonton has announced that Mobile Legends M3 World Championship, which will take place in Singapore, will feature 16 of the best teams worldwide vying for their share of a USD 800,000 prize pool and the title as the world's best MLBB team. The city-state also hosted the M2 World Championship, which was won by the Filipino team Bren Esports.
The upcoming tournament will mark the international MLBB debuts of new regions such as the Middle East, Turkey, North America, and Latin America. Meanwhile, teams from Myanmar and Japan will not be participating this year.
Mobile Legends M3 World Championship Overview
M3 World Championship is the third iteration of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang's world championship tournament. The offline esports event will be held from December 6 to 19 in Singapore. [Update] There will be a live audience for the last three days of the event. In addition, tickets for M3 were sold out in less than a week.
Sixteen teams from around the world are qualified for the tournament. Top Mobile Legends squads will compete for a share of the USD 800,000 (~ PHP 40 million) prize pool, with the champion taking home USD 300,000 (~ PHP 15 million).
Game Format
Here's the game format for the M3 World Championship 2021.
Group Stage:
- 16 squads are split into 4 groups of 4 teams each.
- Each team will play a best-of-one in a single round-robin format.
- The top 2 squads in each group will advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs.
- The bottom 2 squads in each group will move to the lower bracket.
- There will be no elimination in the group stage.
Playoffs Stage:
- All upper bracket matches will be in a best-of-five series.
- All lower bracket matches will be in a best-of-three series, except for the third round that will be a best-of-five.
- Grand Finals will be played in a best-of-seven match.

M3 World Championship Schedule

Playoffs
- The playoffs will run from December 11 to 19. The two remaining teams will meet in the grand finals from 5 pm on December 19 (Sunday) to crown a world champion.
