Game developer miHoYo has announced that the Genshin Impact version 2.3 update is set to release on November 24, 2021. The latest Genshin Impact 2.3 patch, dubbed "Shadows Amidst Snowstorms," includes new playable characters, a new boss, and new events with generous rewards. Redeem codes for free Primogems were also revealed during the live stream event for the Genshin Impact 2.3 update.
New characters: Arataki Itto and Gorou
The latest update contains two new playable characters, including Arataki Itto and Gorou.
Arataki Itto, the new five-star character, is an adventurous man with Oni blood rushing through his veins. As a Claymore wielder and Geo user, he can slash empowered Charged Attacks with his Superlative Superstrength and transform into the Raging Oni King, boosting his attack capabilities while lowering his Elemental and Physical Resistance.
Gorou, the new four-star character and the great general of Watasumi Island's forces, also wields a Geo Vision but prefers to fight with a bow. With more Geo characters in the party, he can provide more buffs to characters on the field.
Additional character backstories will be revealed via Arataki Itto's Story Quest or Gorou and Beidou's Hangout Events.
New boss: Golden Wolflord
The Golden Wolflord, a large monstrous beast, has appeared as the new boss on Tsurumi Island. The Golden Wolflord is much more dangerous than its subordinates, the Rifthounds and Rifthound Whelps, and possesses the same ability to apply the "Corrosion" status to all party members regardless of their shields.
Meanwhile, this terrifying beast can summon Rifthound Skulls as a shield. The Golden Wolflord's Attack can be increased further in the later stages of the battle at the expense of its Resistance to Geo Attacks.
New Events
The season's main event, "Shadows Amidst Snowstorms," will test players in Dragonspine, a vast mountainous area blanketed in snow and subject to extreme weather conditions throughout the year.
With the assistance of Albedo, Eula, and other familiar faces, those who can withstand the Sheer Cold and complete a series of agility, tracking, and combat training challenges will earn a bounty of rewards, including the new 4-star Sword, Cinnabar Spindle, and the ability to create their own "Puffy Snowmen." Another event in Inazuma also requires assistance. Players may investigate recent mass disappearances of small animals and a mysterious Warrior Dog, rescue these strays, and eventually acquire a special Gadget capable of replicating the forms of certain creatures in the Serenitea Pot.
Players will see two banners in this new update. Albedo's and Eula's Wish Events will have a rerun. It will be followed by another Wish Event highlighting Arataki Itto and Gorou.
