Garena sets P1-M prize pool for Free Fire Challenger Series Philippines (FFCP)
Garena has officially announced the inaugural Free Fire Challenger Series Philippines (FFCP), a newly created Challenger Series that will allow more teams and players a direct route into the Free Fire MCP Majors.
The tournament, which will run from December 2021 to February 2022, will present new challenges to local players, with a PHP 1,000,000 prize pool on the line.
Registration for the first FFCP Qualifiers is open from December 5 to 12 at https://ffcp.garena.com/.
The local tournament is open exclusively to Free Fire players who are nationals of the Philippines and reside in the country during the FFCP's duration. They must be at least Gold 1 Rank and Level 20 in the game. Eligible teams who register will compete in qualifier matches from December 15 to 17, 2021.
Top 3 teams in the Grand Finals will earn a spot for the next Free Fire MCP Majors
During the qualifier, participants will compete over three days for a berth in the top 18 teams, which will advance to the League Stage, where they will battle it out for a spot in the FFCP Grand Finals. Both the League Stage and Grand Finals will be held in January and February 2022, respectively.
After the Grand Finals, the FFCP's Top 3 teams will receive direct invites to the next Free Fire MCP (Malaysia, Cambodia, Philippines) Majors, the highly anticipated regional event.
Keep an eye out for Free Fire's official Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram sites for the newest FFCP updates. Moreover, additional information is available on the tournament's official website.
Free Fire MCP Esports Roadmap 2022
Garena has released their Free Fire MCP Esports Roadmap through 2022. This roadmap highlights the path to triumph for local players, where the newly established Challenger Series will provide a direct route to the next MCP Majors for more teams and players.
Notably, like with previous editions, the Grand Finals of the MCP Majors will choose the MCP region's representative squad on the world stage at Free Fire's upcoming international championships in 2022. These events will help to enhance the local esports ecosystem by giving opportunities for players to refine their abilities and collaborate on a national level.
For the second year in a row, Free Fire was named "Esports Mobile Game of the Year" at the Esports Awards 2021. The victory adds to Free Fire's accomplishments in 2021. These include setting a new global esports record with over 5.4 million peak concurrent viewers for the Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore, according to Esports Charts, and becoming the first mobile battle royale game to hit 1 billion downloads in the Google Play Store.
